So, as we expected, the world didn’t end!  We hope you all had a fantastic holiday season and are off to a prosperous new year!  We here at SLR are hard at work to make 2013 another banner year and have LOTS of music slated for release.  As of right now there is a total of five albums scheduled, but you know how we do it.  There’s some other projects in the works and we’ll announce them once they get closer to completion.  Hopefully you all had a chance to download Skuntdunanna aka Mafia’s latest album “Now or Never Vol. 1” that dropped on Christmas.  If not, get it now!

MUSIC SPOTLIGHT:
This month we are spotlighting one of the kings of Seattle’s “gangsta rap” scene, Twin-G.  For those that don’t know, Twin-G is the twin brother of Seattle punchline king, Skuntdunanna, and is also 1/4 of “Seattle’s Most Dangerous Group,” Lac of Respect.  Twin definitely holds his own lyrically though and is easily one of the more underrated MC’s in the Seattle Hip-Hop scene.  Twin-G aka Twin Gamer was recognized for his contributions to West Coast Hip-Hop in 2008 when he won the “Best Washington Rapper” award at The West Coast Hip-Hop Awards held in Portland, OR.  D-Sane also won “Best Washington Producer” award the same year.  Twin-G released his star studded & nationally distributed debut solo album in 2001 which featured West Coast rap kings C-Bo, Killa Tay, Yukmouth, Mac Mall & more.  The album also features Hip-Hop legend Sir Mix-a-Lot, which is one of the very few features he’s EVER done for any Seattle artists. Since then, Twin has gone on to release several other critically acclaimed albums & mixtapes, which are either on sale at www.streetlevelrecords.com (via iTunes, etc) or available for free download.
